If coming by rail, take the train to SIDCUP station (trains run direct from Charing Cross every half hour). Buses run from the station past the front entrance to Queen Mary's (journey time approx 7 minutes); follow the signs to the Frognal Centre. Should you wish to stay for a more prolonged research trip I would recommend staying in London and taking the train out; local accommodation is poor, indeed almost non-existent, and a central location will enable you to visit other important collections such as those at the Royal College of Surgeons and the Wellcome Institute. You may also want to go to the Army Medical Services Museum at Alderhsot.
